Dr Tan Vern Hsen is a consultant cardiologist and director of electrophysiologist at Changi General Hospital, Singapore. Dr Tan received his medical degree from University of Malaya in 2001. He subsequently obtained the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP) in 2005. He joined Cardiology Department, Changi General Hospital in 2008 and subsequently completed advanced specialist training in cardiology in 2011. He underwent fellowship training in cardiac electrophysiology at Libin Cardiovascular Institute, Foothills Medical Centre, University of Calgary, Canada from 2012 to 2014. His research interests are in electrophysiology and pacing. His work in “Impact of Programming Strategies Aimed at Reducing Non-Essential Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator Therapies on Mortality - A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis” was awarded as best of young research in 2014 at Europace-European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA)- Cardiostim 2015 Annual Scientific Meeting.
