I fell in love with cardiology in the very beginning of my medical studies. My mission is the vivid combination of treating patients with all kind of cardiovascular diseases and perfoming research, both in the basic science field and in clinical studies. In particular, I try to perfectly perform and further improve treatment options for people with serious conditions such as heart failure, arrhythmias and myocardial infarction. These include cardiac device therapy, ablation and acute PCI. Starting to analyse inflammatory transcription factors in atherosclerosis (PhD in Sweden), I moved to study also aortic stenosis, takotsubo cardiomyopathy, and ICD/CRT optimization. Imaging, intensive care medicine and the "heart-brain axis" are also interests of mine, with a focus on echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography and central sleep apnea
