Mr Ignacio Ruiz Fernandez

Ignacio graduated in Biochemistry at the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid in 2019. During his Bachelor degree he spent a year abroad as an ERASMUS student in the University of York where he developed a strong interest in the field of Immunology. Over the years, he joined different laboratories doing internships including Pilar Martin's lab at CNIC, where he conducted his Bachelor thesis and as part of the CICERONE program. Then, he was a awarded with a 'La Caixa' Fellowship for Postgraduate Studies in Europe to continue his studies in Immunology at the Imperial College in London. Afterwards, he joined Margarita del Val's group at the Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa as part of a project studying the SARS-CoV-2 vaccinees immune response. In 2021, he obtained a Formación del Profesorado Universitario (FPU) scholarship to start his PhD journey that allowed him to return to Pilar Martín's group to study the role of molecular players in Th17 responses over the past two years.
