Doctor Esmeralda Ruiz Pujadas

University of b, Barcelona (Spain)

E.R got her bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. She received her Ph.D. in Engineering at the University of Freiburg, Germany, where she developed novel segmentation methods for the heart. As a postdoctoral reseacher, she was working on the implementation of an automatic segmentation technique for cochlea segmentation of micro-CT images to build computational models. After three years of research, she switched to industry with a partner collaborator. She developed medical software from scratch including anatomic-specific segmentation methods for guided surgery planning. Currently, she is working within the EuCanSHare project, at the University of Barcelona. She is developing methods with machine learning and deep learning techniques for cardiovascular risk prediction and precise diagnosis, particularly for cardiac arrythmias. When she is not working, she loves reading and travelling.
