Elins' PhD project takes part within the population-based RCT VIPVIZA, a CVD prevention program which assesses the impact of visualization of asymptomatic atherosclerosis, in addition to traditional risk factor-based risk communication. Risk-messages are personalized, colour-coded and related to age, and a motivational conversation is also included. More specifically, Elin study cognitive and emotional response to the intervention, how risk perception and beliefs about possibilities to influence personal risk (health specific self efficacy and response efficacy) evolves over time, and how reactions are associated with long-term lifestyle modifications. Elin has also studied attitudes to protective behaviours during the pandemic Covid-19.
