Mr Filip Hammareus

Linkoping University, Linkoping (Sweden)

Filip is a junior medical doctor in training (since 2023) and PhD student (since fall 2021) in Sweden interested in cardiovascular medicine with focus on preventive cardiology. His research areas involve extracellular matrix (ECM) related circulating biomarkers in coronary artery disease (CAD) and ascending aortic (AA) dilatation. Filip is affiliated to Linköping's university in southeastern Sweden where he works with two large patient cohorts - the life conditions, stress and health (LSH) study along with the Swedish CardioPulmonary bioImage Study (SCAPIS). As a PhD student and a medical doctor in training he performs his clinical work at Ryhov, a middle size hospital also situated in southeastern Sweden. In general, Filip is interested in how long term ECM remodeling affect atherosclerosis progression and hence cardiovascular disease risk. In his spare time, Filip likes both aerobic and anaerobic exercise including tennis. He also likes to read and has an interest in economics.
