He trained in the USA at UAB with Dr Gary Roubin between 1988-1996. Currently the director of the cardiac center at King Fahd Armed Forces Hospital in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. His interest and areas of expertise are complex coronary intervention with an emphasis on LM intervention, bifurcation strategies and PCI for calcified coronary vessels. In the structural arena his interest is TAVI and he is the senior author of the only TAVI registry in middle east (GulfTAVR). He is the recipient of a lifetime achievement award by the Saudi Arabian Cardiac Interventional Society (SACIS). He is also the recipient of the King Fahd Medal for Services to Medicine in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia He is a course co-director for GulfPCR and a program committee member for EuroPCR.
