Miss Ida Derish

McGill University Health Centre, Montreal (Canada)

Ida is a PhD candidate at McGill University (Montreal, Canada) and her primary field of research and study is in cardiovascular repair. Her research interests include i) generating patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived cardiomyocytes from peripheral blood for personalized drug testing as well as ii) elucidating novel therapies for cardiac regeneration after a myocardial infarction. Having conducted over 5 years of scientific research and obtaining one year of experience acting as the leading researcher on a clinical study, Ida has also published 3 peer-reviewed articles. Ida was recently recognized for her graduate research efforts and excellence with distinctions from the Montreal General Hospital Foundation. Ida is fluent in Russian, English and French and some of the hobbies that she holds close to heart include painting and outdoor survival camping.
