She qualified at Newcastle 1965, MB;BS (Hons) Mona McNaughton award; MD 1976 'Congestive cardiomyopathy in Cameroon'. MRCP London 1969; FRCP 1983; FESC 2000; With her late husband, she joined the new medical school (CUSS), Yaoundé Cameroon 1970, later becoming Prof of Medicine & Cardiology, Vice Dean & Co-ordinator of Specialisation Cycle in Medicine. 1999 appointed deputy director of CHU Yaoundé. She participated in many working groups on cardiovascular diseases including endocarditis,(ESID), WHO definition of myocardial infarction and the Interheart study group. She directed over 50 MD theses and published widely in epidemiology of CVS in Cameroon:-hypertension, AIDS, EMF; chlamydia and stroke; IHD, and immune mechanisms in cardiomyopathy. Retired emeritus professor and knighthood from Cameroon. Fluent in French. Hobbies include sewing, gardening, aerobics, writing, football, looking after her two dogs and cat. Currently locum consultant geriatrics, finding a lot of the CVS disease!
