
Professor Florian Kronenberg

Biography
Florian Kronenberg received his MD from the University of Innsbruck, Austria. After his training in Medical Genetics in Gerd Utermann's lab, he worked with Roger R. Williams and Steve Hunt at the University of Utah, USA. Later, he headed the Research Unit "Genetic Epidemiology" at the Institute of Epidemiology, Helmholtz Center Munich. In 2004, he became full professor and head of the Institute of Genetic Epidemiology at the Medical University of Innsbruck.
Research interests: genetic and clinical epidemiological studies on lipoprotein(a).
He is Deputy Editor-in-chief of "Atherosclerosis" and served on several guideline and consensus initiatives. He chaired the most recent EAS Consensus Statement on Lp(a) (together with S. Mora and E. Stroes) and is the chair of the Lp(a) International Task Force.
He has published more than 560 papers including 450 original papers and roughly 100 review articles. H-index: 108 (Publons) and 125 (Google Scholars) with roughly 67,000 citations.
