Associate Professor Arantxa Gonzalez Miqueo

CIMA Universidad de Navarra, Pamplona (Spain)

Member of:

Heart Failure Association

Dr. González obtained her PhD in 2003 at the University of Navarra. In 2005 she was granted the Norman R. Alpert Award (ESC-AHA) to complete her postdoctoral training. After returning to Spain, she obtained a Ramón y Cajal contract (2010; Ministry of Science and Innovation). She is currently the principal investigator of the Laboratories of Heart Failure at the Program of Cardiovascular Disease (CIMA-Universidad de Navarra). Her research is focused on the study of diffuse myocardial fibrosis in heart failure. She is also deeply interested in the search and validation of non-invasive circulating biomarkers of myocardial remodeling. She has participated in over 130 publications in indexed journals (most of them in the first quartile), with an H index of 46. Moreover, she has been involved in more than 25 National, FP7 and H2020 European Commission-funded projects and in an ERA-NET initiative, being the principal investigator of several of these studies.
