Biography
Prof. Badano is the director of the Integrated Cardiovascular Diagnosis Unit at Istituto Auxologico Italiano, IRCCS, and a professor of cardiology at the University of Milan-Bicocca, Milan, Italy. His clinical interests include heart valve diseases, right ventricular and atrial function, with research interests in 3D and deformation imaging echocardiography. He is a member of the Italian Society of Cardiology, ESC, European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (President from 2010 to 2012), American College of Cardiology (ACC), and the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), and serves as a fellow of ESC and ACC, and as an honorary fellow of ASE, British Society of Echocardiography, and EACVI. He is a regular lecturer at ESC, ACC, ASE, and EuroEcho scientific meetings. He published 395 peer-reviewed full papers and authored 9 books. He is an honorary member o the Romanian, Hungarian and Korean societies of cardiology. In 2013, he received the silver medal of the ESC.
