Dr. Panteleimon Papakonstantinou graduated from the Medical School, University of Crete, Greece. He was Internal Medicine Resident (part of the cardiology residency program) and clinical research coordinator at the Internal Medicine Dpt, University Hospital of Heraklion, Crete. He has completed his PhD studies in the field of atrial fibrillation (AF) at the Cardiology Dpt, School of Medicine, University of Crete. He underwent a clinical observership program in invasive electrophysiology at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. He is currently Cardiology Fellow at the 2nd Cardiology Department, Evangelismos Hospital, Athens, Greece, and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the 1st Cardiology Department, Medical School, University of Athens. His research interest focuses on arrhythmias, especially AF, thrombosis and anticoagulation therapy. He is a nucleus member of the ESC Council on Stroke, Working Group on Thrombosis Young Researchers, and EAPC Primary Care and Risk factors management.
