Dr. Mariel Mitz V. Mopon is a pioneer trainee and currently a senior cardiology fellow-in-training at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center-Regional Heart Center. She hails from Dipolog City, and has then transferred to Cebu City for most of her academic career. She finished her medical degree at Cebu Institute of Medicine, post-graduate internship at Cebu Doctor's University Hospital, and had her residency training in Internal Medicine at Perpetual Succour Hospital, Cebu City. She was inducted fellow of the Philippine College of Physicians last May, 2022, associate fellow of the Philippine Heart Association last 2021, member of the Philippine Lipid and Atherosclerosis Society and was certified as a hypertension specialist by the Philippine Society of Hypertension in January, 2020. Since residency, Dr. Mopon has authored case reports and a research paper that gained recognition in the local setting, and was able to present these literatures on national and international platforms.
