Jocelyn is a research fellow at the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Her research focuses on using innovative strategies to enhance chronic disease self-care with the aim of improving patients' psychological and physiological outcomes alongside reducing the economic burden of long-term care. For her Ph.D. study, she focused on health behavioral change by researching concepts of motivation, time perspective, habit formation and mindfulness in patients with heart failure. Through a randomized controlled trial, a self-regulation program that she developed was shown to be effective in significantly improving heart failure self-care.
