Member of:

European Heart Rythm Association
Heart Failure Association

Klaus Witte is a Cardiologist at the Leeds Institute of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Medicine (GB). His group is driven by patient-orientated questions and a common desire to improve efficacy by personalising the use of new and old therapies in CHF. He has long questioned standard teaching around heart rate and exercise capacity in CHF (JACC 2016). His group has described a reliable way to map the force-frequency relationship in CHF and that by using this approach can improve exercise capacity in people with CHF and pacemakers (JACC-HF 2018, Circulation 2020). Future challenges he looks forward to facing include the growing issue of health economics across Europe, how pathways of care need to adapt, and how to explain the ever more complex molecular basis of clinical syndromes to colleagues, patients and carers. He is most proud of the diversity of the teams he works with which include researchers from all aspects of healthcare.
