Dr. Gabriela Melo Ghisi is an affiliated scientist at the KITE Research Institute, Toronto Rehab (Canada), specializing in patient education for chronic disease management and promoting global access to cardiac rehabilitation (CR). Through collaborative efforts with CR programs worldwide, she has spearheaded the successful development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based patient education curricula across 10 countries, encompassing low-, middle-, and high-income settings. With a prolific scholarly record, Dr. Ghisi has authored over 140 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, contributed to clinical practice guidelines, authored four book chapters, and developed more than 20 CR-related scales. Recognized as one of the top 25 experts in CR research globally by Expertscape, she also holds a position among the top 6 researchers worldwide for "Heart rehabilitation, Cardiovascular Disease, and Metabolic Equivalent" according to SciVal (Scopus) for the years 2019-2021.
