Ahmed received his Bachelor of Medicine from Cairo University in November 2003. He received his Master and MD Degree in Radiology from the same university. In 2011, he obtained a 2-year clinical fellowship in cardiac MR imaging in the German Heart Centre, Munich, Germany. Parallel to his clinical work in Germany, he also authored and co-authored numerous research projects, and actively participated as a speaker and presenter in several conferences. He established CMRI unit in Cairo University Hospitals, Egypt. He also worked as the head of the Radiology Department in Aswan Heart Centre, Egypt with Sir Prof. M. Yacoub. He worked as consultant of Cardiovascular Imaging in Bad Segeberg Heart Centre, Germany. Currently he works as a Consultant of Cardiovascular Imaging and Deputy of Radiology Department in Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, UK.
