Doctor Francesca Santilli

Francesca Santilli is Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Chieti since 2015. She is also Head of the Haemostasis and Thrombosis Unit, Center for Advanced Studies and Technology, Chieti, since 2017 and Chief of the Diabetes Clinic in Chieti University Hospital. Her main topics of interest involve preventive cardiology and diabetes mellitus and its complications. She is co-author of more than 140 original articles and book chapters. She has a long-term expertise in the pathophysiology of atherothrombosis, in the context of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. The scientific production encompasses pathophysiological and clinical pharmacology studies addressing interindividual variability in low-dose aspirin response, its determinants and therapeutic strategies. Know-how includes in vivo biochemical evaluation of thromboxane metabolite excretion as well as isoprostane formation, characterization of platelet proteins. Her hobbies are ballet and music.
