I have been a Consultant Cardiologist at the James Paget University Hospital in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, UK since 2011. I am Lead for Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation for the East of England, lead for cardiology research at the hospital, and patron of the local patient group. I am an Associate Editor for EHJ-QCCO. I was Clinical Lecturer in Cardiology and Epidemiology at University College London from 2009 to 2011. I trained as a doctor at University College London Medical School, qualifying in 1997. After junior doctor jobs at the Royal Free, Kings College and Royal Brompton Hospitals, I became a Specialist Registrar on the training scheme in Cardiology based at Cambridge University Teaching Hospitals in 2002. I completed an MSc in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and read for my PhD in the department of Epidemiology and Public Health at University College London. I was research fellow at the George Institute for Global Health in Sydney in 2010
