Prof Dr Folkert Asselbergs is cardiologist, professor in Cardiovascular Genetics at the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU), Chair Center for Circulatory Health UMCU, professor of precision medicine at University College London (UCL), Director Clinical Research Informatics Unit UCLH, and Chair Data Infrastructure Dutch Cardiovascular Alliance ( His research focuses on precision medicine using routinely collected clinical data and large-scale -omics. He is the scientific coordinator of European IMI Bigdata@Heart consortium ( that aims to deliver clinically relevant disease cardiovascular phenotypes, scalable insights from real-world evidence and insights driving drug development and personalized medicine through advanced big-data analytics.
