Professor Aneil Malhotra PhD, MB, BChir, MA (Cantab), MRCP (UK), MSc (Medical Leadership). Aneil is a professor at the Institute of Sport, Manchester Metropolitan University and consultant cardiologist in sports cardiology and inherited cardiac conditions ay Wythenshawe and Manchester Royal Infirmary Hospitals. He graduated from the University of Cambridge (Emmanuel College) in 2006 and spent time at MIT and Harvard Universities before moving to Oxford to continue his training in cardiology. He completed a Masters in Medical Leadership at Birkbeck University (2013) and his PhD in inherited heart diseases and sports cardiology at St. George’s University of London where he was appointed NIHR Clinical Lecturer. Aneil has achieved Young Investigator Award and numerous best abstract prizes at international conferences including ESC Update 2019, ESC 2017, ACC 2016 and EACP 2015. Aneil’s research areas include investigating the electrical and structural features of the athlete's heart.
