Professor Cowie leads the heart failure service at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London (a Division of Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust) and is Adjunct Professor at King's College London. He was a Non-Executive Director and Board member of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in England from 2016-2020. He has a strong research interest in diagnostics, devices and drugs, and new models of care. He Chairs the ESC Digital Health Committee, helping to lead the work on all aspects of e-health.
