Marina Politi Okoshi has graduated in Medical School (Jundiai Medical School) in 1983 and concluded Medical Residence in Internal Medicine (Botucatu Medical School, UNESP) in 1986. She received a Master Degree in 1993 and a Doctoral Degree (Botucatu Medical School, UNESP) in 1998. Dr. Okoshi had Postdoctoral Training at Harvard Medical School under supervision of Dr. Beverly H. Lorell during 2002 and 2003. She is now a Full Professor of Internal Medicine Department of Botucatu Medical School, Sao Paulo State University, UNESP. Her main research activity includes experimental heart failure, cardiac remodeling, and heart failure-induced skeletal muscle changes. Dr. Okoshi has also participated as a principal investigator in the Multicentric International Trials AVERROES and ADOPT. She has received research grants from Brazilian Funding Agencies such as FAPESP and CNPq and has been author or co-author of approximately 140 PubMed listed papers.
