Alberto Palazzuoli is a well-known Italian Cardiologist with vast research activity primarly focused on heart failure treatment and the impact of comorbidities in heart failure . He is the main author of at least 160 English papers on the impact of renal dysfunction in heart failure, acute heart failure management, the diagnostic and prognostic relevance of biomarkers in heart failure and coronary diseases. He is also involved in research activity on cardiovascular imaging and the most relevant echocardiographic parameters for risk assessment. He is credited as vice chair of SIC group of Cardiac insufficiency and he is one of the forefathers who coined the term “cardiorenal sindrome”. He advanced the field of cardiorenal medicine including randomized trials and key studies using modern measures ofproteomics and metabolomics. Over the years, he attended several recognized Institutes such as the Thorax Center Rottherdam, Northwestern University of Chicago and Bristol Heart institute,UK
