Professor Hermes Ilarraza was born in Mexico City and studied Medicine at the National and Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He studied Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the National Institute of Nutrition Salvador Zubirán and the National Institute of Cardiology Ignacio Chavez, respectively. Post-degree at the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center in Seewis Switzerland. Dr Ilarraza started the full-time Cardiac Rehabilitation course and the Mexican Certification for these kind of specialists in Mexico. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine of Mexico and Chief of Department at the National Institute of Cardiology the last 20 years. Dr Ilarraza was President of the Iberoamerican Council of Cardiac Rehabilitation and the Mexican Association of the Heart-Care. He participated as researcher and author in more than 80 scientific papers. Featured research items were developed in cardiac rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, risk evaluation and complexes systems
