Dipak Kotecha is a Professor of Cardiology & Cardiac Imaging and Consultant Cardiologist, and recently completed a prestigious National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Fellowship. He works extensively with the ESC, including the Education Committee, the Congress Programming Committee and the 2016 ESC Guidelines on atrial fibrillation. His research focuses on the interaction of heart failure and atrial fibrillation, published in leading international journals. He supervises a number of PhD students including basic, translational and clinical science, leads an international heart failure consortium and runs controlled trials. Dipak also collaborates on major European grants in this field, with an interest in trial methodology, robust statistical evaluation, big data approaches and novel technology such as mobile applications and wearable devices. He is the 2018 Winner of the British Cardiovascular Society Michael Davis Award for his contribution to cardiovascular medicine.
